Rockin’ Holiday in Modesto

Rockin Holidays-6
BY ANNE MARIE BERGTHOLD

Let it rock, let it snow. For the first two weekends of December, there was music and snow in the evening every half hour at 10th Street Place in Modesto. It kicked off on December 6, following the ever-popular Dickens Faire at the McHenry Mansion, with the Rockin’ Holiday Modesto Parade. In addition to the snow, the event featured Rockin’ Santa and his Rockin’ Elves and retro-themed decorations that adorned the Modesto Historic Cruise Route. This year, with new lights, the streets shone even brighter thanks to the generous support of local businesses. In true Modesto style, the music and decor was reminiscent of the era of saddle shoes, juke boxes, roller skates and white wall tires. The event also included a Coats, Shoes & Socks Drive for kids, helping the community uphold its long tradition of seasonal giving.
