Hidden Talents: Matt Aguirre

PEOPLE NORMALLY KNOW ME AS…

Warehouse Operations Manager for Second Harvest  Food Bank

BUT WHAT THEY DON’T KNOW IS THAT…

I am Worship Leader and Choir Director at Revival Center Pentecostal Church in Modesto, where I sing.

I GOT STARTED WITH MY HIDDEN TALENT WHEN…

I was very young, probably about the age of seven years old. My father was an amazing singer as well, so being around him and seeing all he did made me want to be just like him as a child. As I grew up, I sang more and more in the church, as well as weddings and special events. And now at the age of 37, it’s practically a full time thing outside of my normal job. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

AND SOMEDAY I HOPE TO…

Record my own project so that I can share my story through music.

THE LAST BOOK I READ WAS…

Developing the Leader Within You by John Maxwell and Leading On Empty by Wayne Cordeiro.

I ALSO ENJOY…

Playing softball, golf, and spending time with my family.

GET STARTED BY…

To me it’s always been a way for me to express how I feel about something. Almost therapeutic! There’s something about music that does something for the soul. Singing is a way of communication, and reaches and touches people you could never imagine.
