Robert or Dr. Donovan, who works in the Emergency Department at Doctors Medical Center. I also serve as the Medical Director of Clinical Informatics there, and I’m also the Medical Director of the PHI Air Ambulance Service in Modesto and Sonora.

I sent in an application to SpaceX to see if they had any use for an ER physician, but interestingly, I never heard back from them! So I’m living out my dreams of grandeur by using my drone in different settings and pretending I’m an astronaut.

I got started with my hidden talent when…
When I was 15, I began taking flying lessons, and on my 16th birthday, I first got my driver’s license, then drove by myself to the airport to do my first solo flight in a Beechcraft Musketeer. I had been following the advances in recreational drone technology, and I became hooked.

And someday I hope to…
My goal is to become increasingly proficient in operating the drone and taking and editing videos so that people other than myself will be interested in watching them. I also plan to use the drone to provide better documentation (approach paths and obstructions) of different landing zones for my Air Ambulance helicopter pilots.

The last book I read was…
I’m currently reading “Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania” by Erik Larson.

I also enjoy astronomy. I recently saw the full lunar eclipse in the Bahamas. And I enjoy watching BBC Murder mysteries with my wife.
