A BRUNCH FOR THE COMMUNITY

BY NOEL DANIEL

Get ready to munch, crunch, and brunch on everything from fresh made-to-order crêpes, shrimp cocktails, chicken fajitas and so much more at The Community Brunch this year.

This year, on Sept. 23 in the Modesto Center Plaza from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., the brunch will deliciously commence—but always with the community in mind.

The brunch is an amazing opportunity for local chefs to partner with five very deserving local charities that support the kids in our community. It’s a competition-style brunch where both chefs and charities will compete for the chance to win $100,000 or more. The charities include The Salvation Army Red Shield, the Stanislaus County Police Activities League, Without Permission, Society for disABILITIES, and the Education Foundation of Stanislaus County.

“Your support will benefit five great organizations in our community that serve underprivileged kids,” said Dan Costa, Owner of Chef’s Menu. “This will be a brunch to remember.”

There will be made-to-order crêpes with fresh local fruit, made-to-order omelettes with 20 ingredients to choose from, shrimp cocktails, house-made sausage, chicken fajitas, waffles, scrambled eggs benedict, country fried potatoes, bellinis, coffee, orange juice, and more!

And who else but a team of local chefs is qualified to prepare all this wonderful food? Local chefs from some of the Valley’s finest restaurants are partnering with participating charities in order to serve up the best brunch experience.

Chefs include Mike Nelson of Smokey’s; Roman Wagner of Rivets; Simrin Gill of Village Baking Co.; Vincent Alvarado and John Surla of Surla’s Restaurant; Jaime Alderete of Verona’s; Leroy Walker of Bistro 234; and Stanley Dimond, Fernando Gomez, and Dan Costa of Chef’s Menu.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity for a great brunch and to help the community youth for a better tomorrow. For more information, visit www.TheCommunityBrunch.com
