A Hoppin’ Good Time at Modesto Reservoir

By Michele Laverty

6,000 eggs, 100 goodie bags, a train and one Easter Bunny came together for a fabulous spring day at the 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Modesto Reservoir on March 26. An estimated 1,300 people joined in the fun to hunt for eggs, compete in sack races and water balloon tosses, and get their faces painted.

The first 100 children received bags packed with goodies and the opportunity to be first in line for free photos with the Easter Bunny. Radio stations KHOP 95.1 and Kat Country helped keep the atmosphere lively as children participated in age-specific egg hunts for those 6,000 filled eggs.

Stanislaus County Parks and Recreation partnered with Stanislaus County Police Athletic League. Staff teamed with volunteers to keep the event safe and hopping along!
