Enjoy an evening in Oakdale as you sip and shop along downtown. This bi-annual event is available by ticket only for those over 21. Enjoy wine from participating stores, live entertainment, and a souvenir glass, along with any treasures you find along your shopping adventure.

3. DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
Dia de Los Muertos is celebrating it’s 3rd annual celebration this year in a memorable way. In an event meant to honor and remember departed loved ones, you will find yourself surrounded by colorful attire, alters for family members, and lively music. Activities include Ballet Folklorico, musical entertainment, food vendors, and a free viewing of the Disney movie Coco at the State Theatre. This is a free event meant for all ages. Feature film viewing space is limited.

4. PEACE OFFICER MEMORIAL RUN
17 Peace Officers have fallen in the line of duty in Stanislaus County since 1906. The Peace Officer Memorial Group once again hosts the Peace Officer Memorial Run to assist the families of fallen officers and raise public awareness. Included are such events as a Kids Run, 5K, Half Marathon, and Safety Fair. Each mile of the half marathon will be dedicated to a fallen officer with their photo by the mile marker. Whether you are testing your endurance or showing your support for law enforcement, be sure to join in the fun!

5. SPOOKY CON MODESTO
Come to celebrate all things Halloween at the Spooky Con October 14th. From the lighter side of haunts to the nightmare-inducing all in one day. Be sure to prepare yourself as the notorious Higbee Horror Haunt is not for the faint of heart! Complete with Cosplay contest, hauntings, and vendors. Be sure to buy tickets for the event early before they disappear. Tickets are $5 if bought in advance, children 12 and under are free.

6. RIVERBANK WINE AND CHEESE EXPO
The city of Riverbank invites you to join the 42nd annual Cheese and Wine Exposition. Come and see the wide offerings of more than 100 vendors, including art and crafts made nationwide and food booths, while sipping on your favorite wine or craft beer. The award-winning cheeses, wines, craft beers, a kids area with rides and game, and live music are sure to leave you wanting more at this event fun for the whole family. General admission is free, tasting tickets are $20 in advance.

A fan of all things frightful? Get your heart racing and blood pumping at the Stanislaus FEARgrounds as you experience Halloween-themed activities and vendors and 13 thrilling attractions, including a zombie run, mazes, and more. Certain attractions require paid admission, but entrance and parking to enjoy the Halloween atmosphere is free.
