1. AIRPORT BREAKFAST
Fly high with a filling pancake breakfast and help support the Central California Valley Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force. This organization helps to preserve heritage military aircraft. You can find them and their pancake breakfast at the Modesto Airport on the second Saturday of every month.

2. 5TH ANNUAL TURKEY DRIVE
The holidays are approaching, and in this season of mindfulness it’s important to do what you can for those less fortunate. The Modesto Gospel Mission and Salvation Army’s 5th Annual Turkey Drive is aiming to help needy families in the area have the Thanksgiving they deserve. Donate a turkey or give a check during the drive to help them reach their goal.

3. THANKSGIVING BANQUET & BUNDLE UP
This charity banquet brings food and warm clothes to a thousand men, women, and children who are cold and hungry. If you’d like to help serve the needy you can volunteer to set up, serve dinner, and distribute clothing.

4. FANTASY OF TREES, LUNCHEON, AUCTION & BOUTIQUE
Friends of Community Hospice invite you to join them in a fantastical wonderland, right inside of Modesto’s very own Gallo Center. Designer-decorated trees, special treats, gifts–whatever you do, don’t miss out on this December wonderland.

5. DICKENS FAIRE
Watch as the street outside of McHenry Mansion transforms into the very picture of a Victorian holiday. Vendors will be set up selling foods and crafts, and the mansion will be open for tours to view it in its holiday decor. Carolers in Victorian costume will complete the holiday fun.

6. CELEBRATION OF LIGHTS PARADE
Who doesn’t love a parade, and Christmas lights? Watch this luminous procession of floats, marching bands, clowns, horses, fire trucks and more make its way downtown to ring in the Christmas season. The route will take the parade from historic McHenry mansion, past the Courthouse, and into the center of Downtown, providing ample viewpoints.

7. ROCKIN’ HOLIDAYS TREE LIGHTING
Snow in Modesto? Only at the Rockin’ Holidays Tree Lighting in downtown Modesto. Come for a night of retro fun, rockabilly musicians, and, of course, Rockin’ Santa and his Rockin’ Elves. Young and old alike are sure to find their holiday spirit at this tree lighting.

8. LIGHT UP A LIFE HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING
The Friends of Community Hospice Annual Light Up a Life Holiday Tree lighting at Sutter Health Memorial Medical Center will take place on Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. The big evergreen tree at the corner of Coffee Road and Briggsmore Ave. in Modesto is lit to honor, celebrate, and remember loved ones. Symbolic lights and ornaments are available for a nominal donation. Immediately following the ceremony, refreshments will be available at a free community reception. If you are interested in purchasing a symbolic light or ornament, please call the Community Hospice Foundation at 209-578-6370. The event is free to attend and open to the community.

9. BREAKFAST WITH SANTA AT THE GALLO GROUNDS
Santa’s sleigh is stopping in for breakfast at E&J Gallo. Come enjoy a morning of delicious, kid-friendly breakfast foods and entertainment by Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra, Dance Factory, and the Choralettes, and get your little ones’ pictures taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

10. THE WOMEN’S AUXILIARY BALL
